Digital Radiography

Your dentists and staff at Rocky Creek Dental Care pride themselves on providing sound quality dental care. Digital radiography (x-ray) technology in dentistry has been around for many years, but changes and improvements in the equipment have taken place recently. We are proud to announce that our practice will be switching to digital imaging this year. Different types of dental x-rays are important tools that we use to diagnose tooth decay between teeth or under restorations. They provide us with a way to visualize bone destruction from a tooth infection or periodontal disease. Routine x-rays can also help us identify certain tumors in the head and neck or even alert us to developmental abnormalities in children.
We already have this technology in our Downtown office, and it’s coming soon to the Eastside location!
Community Project Update 2011

Our Final numbers are in! Way to go Rocky Creek Patients! With your help, we were able to donate over 471 items, with matching tooth care kits to the troops in action overseas! And, our GENEROUS Patterson Dental Rep, Tom Wallace, donated matching Listerine! THANKS to all of you for your generous support of this worthy project!
2011 Community Project: Give 2 the Troops

Our summer community project is underway and a great success! We began in May by collecting over 77 babywipes with help of our fabulous patients! Each donation was matched with a toothcare kit for our troops over seas. In June we were able to match 46 packs of batteries! Our patients have been so generous! We really appreciate it, as I’m sure our troops will, too! For July we’re on our final push to collect non-aerosol deodorant, and in August we’ll be collecting sun screen. Thanks to all our wonderful patients!

Farewell & Welcome

We’d like to wish our hygienist, Sarah, well as she moves to Charleston with her new hubby. She has been with us for more than 5 years, and we will greatly miss her!
We would also like to welcome Lyndsay to our practice. She is a registered hygienist and 2009 graduate from Greenville Tech. Lyndsay is a Greenville Native and has previous work experience in a spa as a licensed massage therapist! We welcome Lyndsay and know she will make a great addition to our staff!
Fluoride varnish

Our office is now using a state of the art fluoride varnish as a part of our standard check-up appointments. The previous fluoride treatments available in dental offices only provided short term benefits for cavity prevention. However, the new Vanish fluoride varnish we are now using provides cavity protection on your teeth for up to six months, and it’s available for children AND adults. Ask our staff about it at your next check-up.
Your thyroid health

Your health and safety are our first concern. Dr. Oz has recently brought thyroid health to the attention of the media. While our dental radiographs using a high speed film use a minimal exposure to radiation, we provide thyroid collars for our patients in order to reduce this exposure even further. Radiographs are necessary in order to see cavities in between teeth, bone levels, and pathology, such as infections or cancer in the bones. Catching problems like these early can save your teeth and even your life! We appreciate your concerns. Feel free to ask one of our staff or doctors at your next visit!

In order to better serve our patients with allergies, Rocky Creek Dental Care is now using Latex free gloves, exclusively! They are made from nitrile, and have much lower risk of allergic reaction.
